Last ride of October

It wasn't a promising evening and so it proved. I arrived late at Nirvana to find no one there, luckily Leo suddenly pulled up in his car as he was late to and whilst he got ready Imade a few calls to try and find if anyone else was already out.

As it turned out Paul, Charlie, Huw & Duncan had already left and were making their way up Leith Hill. We arranged to meet up at the tower and that we managed to do. The conditions were poor with thick mist and constant drizzle, we didn't hang around long and instead set off in search of a potential new path.

It wasn't at all an ideal time to locate a new trail but we did maange to do so not that it was really worth the effort, maybe in dryer times and in daylight it will seem much better. After this we pretty much made our way over to our choosen beer stop of 'The Abinger Hatch'.

Not the best or longest most exciting ride ever but it was good to get out and enjoy the company of friends. Joe and Sally turned up a little later having been on a quick 10 mile blast on Leith hill, it was good to see them too.

Leo had left before reaching the pub, and then, Duncan, Paul and Charlie headed for home after 2 pints whilst Huw and myself got tempted to stay a little longer by Sally and Joe's arrival. Eventually I arrived bak home with a fairly decent 17 miles clocked up and that feeling of being glad to have made the effort despite the conditions.
