Old School Ride

With the weather reverting back to a more wintery status we weren't expecting much of a turn out for tonights first real winter night ride of the season.

I arrived at Nirvana to find Huw and George already there and we were quickly joined by Duncan, Paul, John, Michael and Richard to make a decent sized group of 8.

We eventually managed to persuade Huw to act as ride leader and off we went. I say old school as we spent the evening on Leith Hill with Huw managing to put together a nice loop of including a few lesser used trails.

Conditions were not too bad but it is amazing just how quickly certain areas revert back to mud. It wasn't the fastest of rides but that suited me nicely. We managed to lose John but found him again at the Stehpan Langton where we had agreed to meet for beers.

All in it was good to be out, we covered about 16 miles with in the region of 1,500 foot of climbing. The rain pretty much held off but its very clear that the trails are soon to be back to there normal winter state.
