Well, with Stephs encouragment I decided to entre this event and chose to have a go at the singlespeed category. Such a shame the weather was so bad overnight and through the morning as it really spoilt what would have been an excellent course. Still, despite Steph getting delayed in traffic and missing the start of the race it all went rather well.

It was great to see Iwona and Natasha too who were both racing in the 6hr solo female category and it'll be of no surprise to hear that Iwona went on to win it while Natasha had to settle for 4th.

It ws also good to see several of the Muddy Moles at the event and have a chat although it does seem that everytime we are at the same event it rains which is just a coincidence I'm sure.

As for the race, it was very hard work, I had to walk several parts of the course and the light singlespeed felt decidedly heavy much of the time with all the mud on it. Still, I carried on as best I could and managed to rack up the grand total of 4 laps which was enough to earn 2nd place which I am well pleased with - best podium finish ever for me. Well done also to Andrew from the Muddy Moles who was 3rd just a few minutes behind me

So, thanks for the organisers, great event if you could just keep the rain away and big thanks to Iwona, Natasha and Steph for your encouragement and of course the BBQ afterwards, much appreciated girls
