Bike & Beer 29/10/12
Well, Met George at mine bang on 7, took a nice gentle paced ride up past Wootton Church, up Wolvens lane then down to Broadmoor. Decided to do a two pub stop so headed via Wildwood to the Stephan Langton. As mentioned by the guys who were there last Wednesday we had a fantastic pint, can't remember the name, began with 'W' but was one of the best beers we've ever had. Atmospher in the pub was great, lovely fire and a few locals in. Had arranged to meet Charlie at the Plough so headed off again in that direction. We made our way up and over the hill, the trails were very muddy, more so than usual I swear its the worst I've ever known it but was a beautiful night with a big bright moon. At Coldharbour Cricket pitch we saw lights coming the other way and weren't too surprised to realise it was Charlie. Headed straight down the main track to the Plough only to find it shut. It was about 9 by now but the decision was made to head back to Friday Street. Was very pleased to find the Langton still open. We were keen to have more of that delicious beer and that we did, 2 1/2 pints each more. Sadly we eventually had to leave. It was about 10.30 by now I think. So headed back over to Broadmoor, down past the Waterfall up to Wolvens lane then back down to Logmore lane via Logmore Green. George & Charlie then took Rays sneaky route back to Dorking whilst I headed home to Westcott. Top ride of about 16 miles at a sedate pace partly due to the conditions but a fun midweek evening out.
