Thats Better
Well after all that rain in April and then early May, what a fantastic week its been this week. Despite the record rainfall and dwindleing enthusiasm I have still managed to get a lot of riding in and the 'Cocks' as a hole have been racking up the miles. The likes of Antony, Jamie and Leo have put in some big mile rides whilst I have managed to supplement my more average 20 to 30 milers with a daily commute to the station and back - not a lot but that extra 5 miles a day soon adds up over a month or two. With the vastly improved conditions this week I have so far managed 31 miles on Saturday with Charlie and George which was a loop out over to Bramley via Newlands, The Chantries, St Marthas and Blackheath. Monday evening was supposed to be a quick pub ride but turned into a bit more than planned eventually racking up another 16 miles on Ranmore and Norbury with Matt, Huw & George not forgetting Ray & Charlie who met us at the pub (Running Horses @ Mickleham - 1st time there for many a year). Tuesday I did the full work commute taking in as much off road as possible which meant an 11 mile route to Redhill followed by a 17 mile trip home taking in Reigate Hill, Headley Heath, Mickleham Down and Ranmore. Tonight is the usual Wednesday ride so another 20 plus miles tonight on top of the Station Commute both today and Monday will really see the weeks mileage start to add up. Long may the warm sunny weather continue and I have to admit its amazing just how quickly the ground has dried out again - so much nicer coming home with a dusty bike as opposed a muddy one - fantastic.
