Cryptic text from Toby, are you up for a night ride? meet up at 7.30, bring some warm clothes, food and cooking equipment. A bit short notice, quick call to put lights on charge, obtain pass to ride, race home, microwave and flask soup, meet up with Charlie, George and Toby.

A quick ride up to Leith Hill via Squires Farm and along an overgrown path to a gorse clearing somewhere between Summer Lightening and Coldharbour cricket pitch. Wasn't long before we had a camp fire roaring and aromas of curry cooking and tea brewing. Forgot how much fun it is to just sit around a camp fire and chew the fat. Stayed for about an hour before packing up and racing back along Waggle Dance to the Plough Pub.

Ride back was awesome, trails dry and very grippy, decided to empty the tanks and ride flat out all the way back, almost lost it on the start of Summer Lightening.

Thoroughly great evening, looking forward to more of the same.
