A big effort

Well, it was for me at least. Still, I have to admit to being a little surprised that 8 others turned up for the ride to in what were quite damp and windy conditions.

Don't no why but the past month or two has been a real struggle on the bike for me, really am finding it hard to get going at all and feel exhausted with the minimum of effort and last night was no exception.

Still, we had a sedate ride out over the Abinger Roughs and made our way to Gomshall then up to the edge of Peaslake and onto Holmbury Hill. Something like 7 miles in and that was enough for me so I headed home alone. At least I took in one new path on the way back and despite going slowly I enjoyed my unpressured amble home.

As for the rest of the group, I understand they headed off all around Holmbury Hill including Parklife and Secret Squirrel and ended up at the Kings Head for beers. I also understand that good old Charlie managed to get them all a little lost on the way home - I'm putting that down to too much beer.

Well, I managed about 13 miles and the others I guess must be around 20, perhaps a little more. All in all, was good to be out and get the 1st off road ride of 2012 under my belt.
