Great Conditions

Well I have to say after all these years biking I can't remember a February like it, the trail conditions at the moment are actually very good indeed which is a real treat for the time of year.

Mike, George and myself took advantage of the conditions on Tuesday night with a short ride up to Coldharbour detouring through Redlands wood for a bit of a play there. Dry trails and shorts at this time of year, marvellous.

Wednesday Mike and myself were out again on the regular ride from Nirvana and were joined by John, Antony, Simon, Huw and Duncan to make a magnificent seven.

We took in a route up through Logmoor Green, over to Broadmoor then down to Friday Street via 'Wildwood'. From here we made our way over to Abinger Common then to Holmbury where we climbed the hill and desended it again down to Peaslake using the excellent 'I should coco' trail.

From Peaslake it was onto Pitch hill and the climb was followed by a great desent including 'claw hammer'  all the way down to Farley Green then Ponds lane to Little London for beers at the William IV.

We haven't stopped there for a while so was good to find the pub with a roaring fire and great selection of beer as per usual, top couple of pints of Shere Drop before heading back to Westcott via Shere, Gomshall, Abinger Hammer and Abinger Roughs. Top ride in top conditions. 22 miles all in, roll on Saturday and more fine riding.
