And so another year begins.

Not a bad start to the year then biking wise so far. 10 days in and 3 rides done 2 of which this past weekend.

On Saturday I cycled over to Nirvana to join the 9.30 shop ride and was greated by a cheery Simon who was out to celebrate his 40th Birthday (little did he know of the 'surprise' party we had install for him that evening). We were joined by Dave and Ray  making a total of 4 regulars and were joined by 3 newcomers.

We headed off out towards the the Abinger roughs before cutting up to Wottoon and on to Wolvens lane. We made our way up to Coldharbour and then on towards the tower. Before reaching the tower 2 of the newcomers headed off finding the pace a little too fast. The remaining 5 of us headed on around Leith hIll, decending to Friday Street then making our way over to Holmbury via Abinger Common.

From Holmbury we made our way other the hill and then down BKB to Peaslake. The going throughout was very hard with the trails in a pretty poor condition due to all the recent rain. After a stop for tea we were once again off, Dave heading home to Albury, me to Capel and the remaing group back to Westcott. All in all it was a fun but tireing ride of in my case about 30 miles.
