Another Injury

Well, if you take a look at the new forum you'll find an x-ray of Antonys broken collar bone. Apparently achieved in a low speed argument with a tree on last Sunday's Nirvana ride. Looks like he'll be out until almost Christmas with his 1st ride back being targeted as that on teh evening of 22nd December for our' Dorking Cocks' Christmas meal.

Talking of which, tables have been booked at the Kings Head in Holmbury for this including one for any partners who may wish to attend. So far we are up to 20 people and it looks like this number may still increase.

Not much other exciting news at the moment, just the usual Wednesday and Saturday rides going on. I did venture out last Sunday with my 17 year old niece (Sophie) which was really nice. She had expressed an interest in trying out mountain biking and wanted some proper hills included so a trip on Leith Hill was arranged. We set off from Granny's in Coldharbour and went down Wolvens lane and then doubled back to take in a little of summer lightning. We carried on down to Broadmoor from where we started the long climb all the way up to Leith Hill tower. With just one stop for a bit of water we made it to the top where tea and cake were enjoyed.

The return journey was shorter but included 'the Dukes Warren' and and final flourish on 'Crooked Furrow' which brought us back to Coldharbour. A total of just over 7 miles covered wasn't too bad for a 1st go at proper off roading and I'm pleased that young Sophie enjoyed the experiance and has already expressed an interest in going out again. I think she enjoyed the use of my Kona Kula and am pleased to say did notice the differance compared to her own bike, (lets hope she dosen't request one from the bank of mum and dad or I'll be in trouble with my brother).
