Beer & Bacon

What with all the good weather this past few days we thought it about time we did another 'Cooking on the hill' ride.

5 of us met up at the Plough, Simon, George, Brian, myself and Charlie (for the 1st time on one of these rides) and after a quick half of Tallywhacker set off to our usual camp site. Its only a very short distance but I extended the trip there slightly by taking us past the Coldharbour Bonfire site to check if any pallets for the fire had been delivered and thankfully the answer to that question was a yes.

With me satisfied that I'll have a busy Sunday morning bonfire building we headed on. Its was a beautiful night with a cresent moon with a orange tinge. On arriving at the cooking spot the usual arrange of stoves was produced and the air was filled with the sounds and smell of the cooking including curry and bacon.

With the cooking done and Charlie on a deadline to get home we quickly packed up and headed off leaving no trace of our visit. We all went with Charlie over to and then down Summer lightning and as far as Simons Copse. From here George and Charlie continued home to Dorking whilst Brian, Simon and myself headed back to Coldharbour and in to the pub for another pint and a glancing look at another poor England performance.

By the time I cycled home agian another 16 miles had been covered and an enjoyable evening had. Roll on the next cooking night which will hopefully by on a frosty ground under and starlit skye.
