Getting plenty

Since returning from holiday just over two weeks ago I have managed to squeeze in plenty of riding. For example last Saturday I was on the Nirvana ride where we had a big turn out of 20 people. To be honest thats too many for one group really but we persevered and clocked up a 30 mile route and managed to keep everyone together which was an achievment in itself.

With the added miles to and from home that took the total for the ride up to 46 for me including plenty of hills such as Holmbury, Pitch, St Marthas and Newlands Corner where we had a tea stop. Once back in Westcott 11 of us headed to the Crown for further refreshments which was nice for a change.

On Tuesday Mike and myself met up with Dave W from the Muddy Moles at the Plough Coldharbour for a ride on Leith Hill. I think we covered about 12 miles or so of beauitful singletrack, trying a few paths I haven't been on for ages as well as the good old favourites such as Chocolate Jesus. With a beer after and the ride to and from home again that brough my total distance covered for the ride up to 21 miles.

Then of course last night it was the usual Wednesday Dorking Cocks ride starting at Nirvana. 11 of us were out and despite tired legs I was fairly pleased with my efforts especially as I was taking my Charge Duster 8 out on its first big group ride. I thought the lack of gear spread may prove too much but to be fair, it didn't seem to make any differance at all and the bike remains super smooth to ride. Another 21 miles covered this time mainly on Holmbury Hill, great fun.
