Vast Improvment

With the weather improving we were expecting quite a turn out for the Wednesday night ride so I was surprised that only 5 of us made the effort. Still, thats a good number for a fast blast on the ever improving trails. We headed off from Westcott on the well worn route of past the church and up the Rookery. From here we spent the next couple of hours on the fantastic singletrack that Leith hill has to offer.

Its a sure sign of the weather improving as we spotted any number of other lights through the trees and passed solo riders and several other groups all having fun as the effects of the long winter slowly ebb away.

John was struggleing a bit so headed off to the pub early which to him I'm sure was just a added bonus. We eventually re joined him in the Kings Head at Holmbury where as usual the beer was superb. A couple of pints later and we headed off home Via Abinger common to complete a 19 miler.

Looks like a few of us may well be having a bash at this event on 25th April www.peaslakemtbo.com which should be fun and with our local knowledge should make the route finding a little easier.
