Cooking on Leith Hill Ride

Tonight we are planning one of our regular 'cooking on Leith Hill' rides. Meeting at 7 at the Plough, bring your own stove/food for a short trip onto the hill, should be good fun and will be followed by a Tallywhacker or 2 at the Plough.

Well that was fun, and bloody cold. Riding on the road was rather scary with all the ice - off road was much better except for the snow covered everything and then froze which buggered up all the gears. Also the cleats in the pedals get packed with snow and become useless, infact all the moving parts become very blocked up, jockey wheels, front and rear mechs, gear cables, cranks - you name it and it suffers big time.

Still, we managed to get up to the Plough, have a pint and then ride off to our venue on the hill, we even managed to drag Tom, one of the pub locals along with us. So with George, Huw and myself that made 4 of us, we got a fire going cooked up some soup and chilli, ate then headed back to the Plough for a couple more Tally's. All good fun
