Mayfly in the Classroom
In conjunction with local Fisheries Trusts and with support from the Wild Trout Trust the Moray Firth Trout Initiative has started delivering Mayfly in the Classroom activity to local schools around the Moray Firth. Pupils get the opportunity to collect mayfly nymphs from their local river before hatching them into Mayflies in special homemade apparatus in their classroom. The project helps teach them about lifecycles, food chains and the importance of clean and healthy rivers. The project is proving very popular but if your school would be interested please contact us.
