Moray Carshare has submitted an application to Moray LEADER (an EU regional development fund) to expand our operations into Elgin, Lossiemouth and Aberlour using electric cars and bikes. We are aiming to become completley carbon neutral within a few years. Thus, we hope the LEADER programme, as well as other funders we have applied to, will support us to base this expansion on electric vehicles, which could in principle be charged from 100% renewable sources. This is already the case for the 2 electric cars that are currently part of our fleet.

Introducing electric bikes into our operations could provide an incentive for more local people to cycle, and thus improve their health. They also provide a convenient and less expensive alternative to our cars.
