On 15th September 2017 Moray Carshare was officially granted charitable status as a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO). This is a major step forward for us:

• It clearly enshrines our purpose of being for public benefit and the protection of our enviroment
• It also provides us with limited liability, so members are not personally liable
• An added benefit is that, as a charity, we will no longer have to pay corporation tax, and thus helps keep the prices of our services at an affordable level.
• Finally becoming a charity makes us more eligible for certain kinds of grants and thus opens the way for providing other services in addition to car sharing.
