Wanted Project Officer

We are leading a project which is committed to making improvements to the parking facilities at Fairy Pools on behalf of our community. To deliver this we are seeking to recruit a Project Officer on a contract basis. The post will be part-time at 3 days a week, with flexibility of working hours offered.

Experience

The ideal candidate will have good local knowledge of Minginish and the wider Skye area, particularly in relation to visitors to the island as well as experience of:

Grant funding

Publicity and community engagement, especially social media

Partnership working

Project management

Preparation of plans and reports

Communication with stakeholders

Consideration of environmental issues

Duties

The Project Officer will report to the MCHA board and will be responsible for:

Securing grant funding

Managing projects

Providing progress reports for the MCHA board, funders and project stakeholders

Developing consultations and plans

Being the main contact between MCHA and its partners

Business development activities and promotion

Liaison with other stakeholders and support organisations

Remuneration

The Project Officer post will be a contracted-out position on a self-employed basis. The contract will be for 12 months at 3 days per week. You will need to have your own transport and be able to work from home during normal working hours to liaise effectively with other organisations. Occasional travel and some evening availability for meetings will be required. Your own computer, mobile phone and access to the Internet are preferred. The FTE salary for this post will be in the region of 30K p.a., with expenses for non-local travel and consumables.
