The new Minginish Community Hall at Portnalong on Skye opened on 27 June 2009 after years of planning, fund raising and hard work by countless volunteers. We have regular groups who meet weekly and there are also one off events so there should be something going on for everyone!
CORONAVIRUS MEASURES - MARCH 2020
Many planned events and activities at the Hall are being cancelled or delayed as a result of the current Coronavirus situation and Government advice. This website and MCHA's Facebook page will be updated as changes are confirmed.
Events directly organised by MCHA will be cancelled and re-scheduled where possible. The organisers of other events will be kept informed and supported so that they can decide whether to continue. For the immediate future, the Hall will remain a community resource and can be booked using the usual booking process.
The Hall toilets will be open to the public from 1 April under the Highland Council comfort scheme. Additional and robust cleaning procedures are in place with immediate effect, following official guidelines. Should we receive a direction that all community spaces should close then we will comply immediately. Thank you for your understanding.
An active volunteer group is coordinating local support for Minginish. If you need to know which shops are serving the area, are having trouble getting shopping or prescriptions, or would just like to talk with someone, please see the information sheet.
