Margrit Perrin

Welcome to my website.  I hope my gallery pages offer something of interest to you. Please note that all paintings are subject to copyright.

Painting has been a loyal companion throughout my life and created pictorial testimony to the different countries and continents in which I lived. Nevertheless, it stayed a hobby while I focussed on a professional career and bringing up a family. It was not until 2006, when moving to the Highlands, that my interest in art moved more and more to the forefront and now occupies most of my time. The local landscape with its ruggedness and ancient woodland steeped in dramatic history provide ample inspiration to transfer to either canvas or paper. My area of interest also includes portraits both of people and animals. I work mainly in watercolour but enjoy painting in oil as well. However, I must admit that the freedom and at times risky moves of the watercolour delight me every time and can make for individual and at times unusual pieces of art.
I am a member of the Art Society of Inverness and the Society for All Artists and have received recognition of my work from both. I also belong to the Art Group of Strathdearn and displayed and sold work at their annual exhibition in Tomatin and at the ASI exhibitions in the Eastgate Centre of Inverness and at the Culloden Moor Visitor Centre as well as at Artwell in Raigmore Hospital.

This website is not just for advertising and selling but also for encouraging you to pick up a paintbrush, a pencil or a piece of charcoal and start producing something that catches your eye, be it a piece of furniture, an artifact, the playing of light, your adorable pet, a magnificent scenery or your own idea and interpretation .

Just look - there is beauty in everything.
