and has been set up to help you understand what Learning Links International is about and the range of options there are for creative artistes, researchers, funders, organisations and volunteers to explore ways to support our work.

As a volunteer led organisation, we were recognised in 2013 with the NCVO "Investing in Volunteers" Award for involving volunteers in our approach to developing a range of  activities and projects related to gaining a better understanding of Black History working with organisations and communities in the UK, as well as internationally.

We continue to work to these standards as our organisation currently develops and refocuses.

The LLI Team have a current focus on activities in Wales, as well as having strong links across the other countries of the United Kingdom. We also have established links with countries in the Caribbean, North and South America and in Africa and other Commonwealth countries.

Our approach is to seek out and work with like minded organisations and community activists to explore the best ways to recognise and respect our shared histories and to share understanding of the importance of community cohesion. We identify and develop trainers and resources, and provide support for teachers, communities, national agencies and other organisations.

Since 2007 Learning Links International’s management team has brought together experts with a unique range of knowledge and expertise to enable us to provide services to better support and recognise the importance of understanding of our shared histories, as well as related environmental issues, interfaith acceptance and social cohesion.

LLI has established an extensive network of partner organisations (see Links) and a range of well satisfied organisations who use our services (see Thanks).

We have also developed a range of effective approaches to establishing, developing and supporting links between entertainers, educationalists and other professionals who want to focus on promoting better understanding of Black History and our responsibilities to one another and Planet Earth. This team includes people from the Caribbean, African and other communities in UK, as well as people from the Caribbean and Africa, Australia and New Zealand.

LLI has developed a successful approach that involves a wide range of professional creative artistes and researchers, as well as other people and organisations.

We also involve volunteers where we can to work on and lead on some of our project work. We recognise that we can offer really useful opportunities and recognise that volunteering brings great benefits to the work our organisation does, as well as to the individuals involved. So, if you are looking for an opportunity to volunteer - we may well be able to follow up an interest of yours, help you develop new skills, get experience or just use your existing skills to give back to our worthwhile social enterprise activities.
