Ladybarn Held to Draw in Urmston
22 January 2012

Upon arriving at Urmston Meadowside it was clear for all to see that this was not going to be an easy game of football for either side due to a badly cut up pitch and high winds gusting across the pitch.

The 1st half was one which despite the odds actually saw some decent passing from both sides and good chances created. Neither team managing to find a breakthrough with Barn greatful to Platt in goal who made some great saves. 0-0 at the break.

The 2nd half started brightly for Barn who put together some neat passing to create a chance straight after the break which unfornately could not be converted and again they came close when Cloran crossed for Potter who surely would have found the back of the net with a free header had it not have been for the ball getting caught up in the wind making the header a difficult chance for Potter to convert.

For the remainder of the game Ladybarn were pinned back into their own half and were having to throw bodies infront of shots to keep their clean sheet intact. Again good work from Potter and Gilmartin to keep out Meadowside. Whilst Barn were pinned back they always looked dangerous on the counter with Meadowside throwing men forward to try and find a winner.

In the end the game finished 0-0 which both sides seemed to settle for given the conditions although surely a better point for Ladybarn away against 3rd place Meadowside.
