Hilton swedscot 4-4 KFC

Kirkhills 100% record finally came to an end after a very entertaining 4-4 draw with hilton.

Hilton took the lead midway through the 1st half when the referee awarded a penalty for an apparent handball despite looking through 14 bodies he awarded the spot kick which was tucked away. Kirkhill equalised when Daniel Macleod broke down the left before finding Paul Hewitson who slotted home. Hilton then regained the lead just before half time when they curled in a 30 yard free kick.

Kirkhill then changed things switching to a 4-4-2 which worked to great effect with 2 goals in the first 15 minutes of the 2nd half, first Paul Hewitson rose above everyone else to head home the leveller from a Simon MacGillivray free kick, then Kirkhill sprung the offside trap where the first effort was saved but not held by the keeper and Daniel Macleod swept the ball home to give Kirkhill the lead.

Hilton equalised with another goal in dubious circumstances when Simon MacGillivray was about to head the clear from a Hilton corner just as he received a push in the back from the attacker who then headed the ball into the back of the net for 3-3.

Saves from Douglas Laird, 1 of those an acrobatic world class save at point blank range kept Kirkhill in the match.

But Hiltons substitute striker found the net with just 5 minutes remaining

But to their credit Kirkhill fought and fought and found an aqualiser when Mike Cummings finished off a superb move to make it 4-4.

And with time running out Daniel Macleod sent a dipping 30 yard free kick towards the top corner only for the keeper to deny him with a fantastic save, Kirkhill pushed forward for the corner and so nearly got the reward but an effort was cleared off the line before the referee blew for full time.
