KFC 1-0 Norboard

Kirkhill moved 3 points clear at the top of the 3rd Division with a hard fought 1-0 victory over promotion rivals norboard.

A first half of limited chances drew to a close still goalless after Paul Hewitson went closest for kirkhill when he struck the post from a tight angle with a cross come shot. A well worked break forward saw raymond harrison strike just past the post from 20 yards. Whilst at the other end kirkhill had dougie laird to thank when he made a spectacular save when some indecisive defending led to a breakthrough in to the box for norboard but laird got down well and saved knocking the ball clear.

The second half began much the same way as the 1st. With some limited chances and a good save from the norboard keeper stopped a mark davidson header from a corner. Kirkhill however battled away and finally got the reward they deserved when a corner from Terry Ivany found the head of Simon Macgillivray who bulleted a header through the keepers hands to make it 1-0.  The game then became an open afare with both sides looking for a goal with kirkhill coming close on a couple of occasions but luck was on their side when norboard  came forward and sent in a hanging cross which was headered just over the bar when it looked easier to score.  Kirkhill held on in the end to make it 4 wins out of 4 and a nice place at the top of the table.
