Caley S.C 2-1 KFC
Kirkhill made it another league defeat as they went down 2-1 to Caley S.C at the bught park.
Simon MacGillivray fired Kirkhill into the lead with a very good free kick finding a gap in the wall and before the keeper could see the ball he was picking it out of his net.
Kirkhill lead 1-0 at half time.
Caley broke forward into the kirkhill box just after the start of the second half before an ex Rangers star clearly found some celtic in him and took an Olympic winning dive inside the box to which the referee pointed to the 6 yard box for a kirkhill goal kick.
Caley were then awarded a penalty with 25 minutes left after the ex Rangers man was this time nudged from behind to which he used all his experience to win a penalty. Another one conceded by KFC. The penalty was dispatched to the back of the net with Paul Christie just missing the save.
Dougie Laird almost gave Kirkhill the lead when he sprinted full speed Linford Christie style to the back post where he thundered the ball goalwards from 6 yards but the keeper somehow managed to make the save.
Caley then took the lead after some sloppy play by KFC and the number ten ran through the whole defence and whilst cries of penalty were being shouted from there defence he calmly slotted the ball into the net.
Still there was plenty to enjoy has Kenny Macdonald came forward from the back and had a very acrobatic overhead kick saved by the keeper, one must wonder how he is coping physically today after such a manouvere at such a young age.
Kirkhill pushed for the leveller but they just couldnt find it and the game ended 2-1 to Caley S.C to add another defeat to the campaign.
Thoughts now turn to trying to avoid a cricket score or a mass brawl from Clach youth next wednesday after clachs fixture last night turned into wednesday night fight night.
The club would also like to appeal for the return of Terry Ivany as in recent weeks it has been believed that the real jake shears has been turning out for the Kirkhill.
