Is Referee on the Beaufort payroll?
26 May 2010

Beaufort Hotel 5-3 Kirkhill

Kirkhill were eventually beaten in a match that was marred by some remarkeable refereeing decisions as dangerous chalenges were flying in from all angles.

Beaufort took the lead when after Simon Macgillivray was scythed down after playing the ball forward which the referee blatantly ignored before beaufort broke up the park and won a corner from which they scored. Within 2 minutes Kirkhill were level after a fantastic lob from range by William Ford for his 3rd goal in 3 games.

Then a leg breaking challenge flew in on KIrkhill defender Martin Anderson followed by a kick out at the kirkhill defender before Anderson got up and pushed the beaufort animal, Both sides were reduced to 10 men apiece.

Beaufort scored again before half time to go into the break at 2-1 ahead.

Beaufort went further ahead making the score 3-1 before Michael Cummings squared the ball across the six yard box where Paul slotted the ball past the keeper for 3-2.

Martin Montgomery then raced clear and from 20 yards at the angle of the box sent a superb strike past the keeper into the top corner, a goal that would be a contender for goal of the season in any league.

Then a quite unbelievable incident where Lewis Tawse clearly knocked the ball clear from the attacker and the referee inexpliably points to the spot. Where the penalty was put past Dougie Laird who nearly got to it.

Then from a corner Dougie Laird was taken out by a Beaufort frontman and as he lay on the ground clutching his shoulder Beaufort carried on to make it 5-3.

A match that easily could have had a much different result and was in the end very lucky to avoid any one suffering an injury.
