Tomatin 4-2 Kirkhill
Tomatin edged a step closer to winning the division 4 title after a close encounter which saw them win 4-2 against kirkhill.
Both sides creating chances but unable to find the net until a Strike from 25 yards out was deflected off two players and beyond the Kirkhill keeper. The first half ended at 1-0.
Kirkhill were forced into an early half time change with Simon MacGillivray picking up a neck injury. Martin Anderson the replacement.
Kirkhill found the equaliser after 10 minutes of the second half when the ball broke to the left and Martin Anderson swung in a low left foot cross which the defender turned into his own net. 5 minutes later and Martin Mainland was taken down in the box with the referee failing to award a stone wall penalty. Kirkhill kept pushing and a chance fell to Callum Cross at the back post but he couldnt find the finish. Kirkhill then lost Ian Macbean to injury after a clash of knees with the defender and the striker come of worse, Terry Ivany the replacement.
Tomatin regained the lead when a long ball over the top was midjudged by the defender and the striker raced clear and his misshit strike found the bottom corner. They then made it 3-1 when they found themselves 14 yards out from goal an the midfielder slotted the ball in low to the corner.
Kirkhill pulled a goal back after Terry Macallister struck a 30 yard shot which was flicked into the net by Paul Hewitson.
Tomatin then secured the win with a 4th goal with 5 minutes remaining when a cross came in from the right was headed in by the number 10 for his 2nd of the game after finding space in the box with a Kirkhill defender down winded.
a result which will now see Tomatin 9 points clear of Kirkhill.
