RAF KINLOSS HOLD OUT FOR VICTORY
25 June 2009

RAF Kinloss come away from Kirkhill with a 2-1 victory after a hard fought match from both sides. Kinloss taking the lead on the stroke of half time from a free header at the back post.

Paul Hewitson equalised for Kirkhill 5 minutes into the second half with a low finish from 20 yards after turning and sending the pall past the keeper.

Kinloss regained the lead midway through the second half after Kirkhill's winger lost the ball in midfield on the right touchline and the left winger from Kinloss fired an angled lob into the far corner of the net over the Kirkhill keeper.

Last minute drama saw Callum Cross from kirkhill work his way into the box only to be fouled on his way past a defender to hand Kirkhill a penalty. Callum Cross himself bravely stood up to take the penalty but a good double stop from the keeper from the penalty and chiefys rebound saw Kinloss hold out for the victory and the passage into the next round of the welfare cup.

Thoughts can now be turned back to league duty with a return to league action next week 2nd july away to Mavericks as they push for promotion to the 3rd Division.
