The purpose of Kilsyth & Villages Community Forum is to ensure that local people have the opportunity and ability to shape and change the design and deliver of services that impact their lives. Kilsyth & Villages Community Forum is a representative body that is open to all members of the local community and encourages individuals, groups, organisations and networks to engage in the community planning agenda for the area.

The Forum was created in 2000, It has acheived so much in it's first decade.

We have dealt with North Lanarkshire Councill and all the various agencies on a wide variety of issues from Health & The Police to Sport and enviromental issues.. to name just a few.

We have provided a forum for the local organisations to raise issues with the authorities. We also act as a sounding board for these authorities when they want to get local views.
We have been involved in the creation of the Keystone Planning document from the word go. the same goes for the Kelvin Valley action plan which has brought a lot of benefits to this area.
We set up an enviromental sub-committee which became the friends of The Kelvin Valley Park. The Forum & friends have worked together on many local initiatives including hosting the national conference of the "walkers Are Welcome Towns Network" in 2010.
