Andy Oakey, the leader of the Klan, is a natural comedy genius and a man of many voices and faces. His entertainment roots go back to the days when he was the star performer at Pontin's Barton Hall, Torquay - the time when it was the flagship of Fred Pontin's holiday empire. It was while working for Pontin's he met the Keyklix Duo at their keyboard festivals - one of many special events staged by the famous holiday name.
After being Pontin's entertainments manager for several years, he decided to become a freelance entertainer and be his own boss. He continiued working with the Keyklix Duo at keyboard festivals where the trio became known as the Keyklix Klan. Appearances at the 'Keyboard Experience Weekends' led to many others at electronic organ and keyboard clubs all over the UK where they provided exclusive keyboard cabaret shows.
In 2004 Andy became co-producer of the popular 'Keyboard Komedy Weekends' held at various Torquay hotels where he combined star comedy entertainers with Keyklix and other star keyboard players.
Ian Griffin is Britain's award winning keyboard player who appeared on BBC 1 television's 'Young Entertainers' at the age of twelve when he was voted back a second time by the studio audience.
His solo shows are rather unique because the second half is based on requests from the audience.
In the 1990's Ian was the musical director of 'Friday Night Live' on HTV playing for many television celebrities.
He met Richard Bower in the mid 1980's at an organ-keyboard festival and they later teamed up as the Keyklix Duo.
Richard Bower won an award with the Home Organist magazine and a place at a Pontin's organ-keyboard festival where he met Ian Griffin. After working for dealerships in the organ-keyboard world he became a freelance consultant with Yamaha and has been involved with the design team in Japan and Germany on the Tyros range of keyboards.
Ian regards Richard as a keyboard wizz-kid with the ability to read his mind in a musical kind of way.
