Time for a Change!

As North East Derbyshire Organ Society approaches its 30th year, it is generally considered that it’s future has limited potential whilst the words “Organ” & “Society” remain in its name, often giving a false impression to many people.

Whilst there is no intention of making any changes to the society’s structure or activities, in an effort to dispel the popular misconception that our concerts consist primarily of hymn singing and classical recitals, and to make our society and its music appear more attractive and appealing to the general public, the committee have agreed to introduce a new name with the aim of attracting new members and visitors.

The title of North East Derbyshire Organ Society (or NEDOS) will be retained for banking and other purposes to avoid administrative problems but we look forward to utilising the new name primarily for promotional, marketing and publicity purposes and hope to benefit from its wider appeal.

The society is to become known as:
