Whilst David Ingley was setting up for the recent Brian Sharp Musical Break at The Kidderminster Mercure Hotel, operations were brought to a halt when the hotel receptionist asked if Keith Wilkinson from ITV Central News could use the room to film a couple of pre-arranged interviews for a short tribute to Betty Yates, the Bewdley resident who was brutally murdered earlier this year.

As the camera was being set up Keith spotted the organ and asked David if he played and if he would be prepared to play some music for the film, and when David revealed that he had met Betty at the hotel in 2006 and she came to him for organ lessons over a period of about three years, Keith said he would also like to do a short interview.

The trial relating to the case ended on Friday 2nd November and the five minute tribute was broadcast during the early evening edition of Central News on that day.

David was featured at the organ, playing his own composition, Regents Parade, which matched the mood of the tribute perfectly, and the same piece was used as background music throughout the report.
