Everyone knows that some societies are more progressive than others.  Many of those who started off with large mirrors to show hands on keyboards now have cameras and screens to show a true picture, rather than a reverse image.

We wonder how many of these forward looking societies have considered showing adverts and promotions during their intervals?   

Remember the Pearl & Dean adverts in the intervals at cinemas in days gone by?   Now organ-keyboard societies can do something along these lines.

Trailers of future artistes, forthcoming attractions, Internet features and keyboard radio programmes and festivals could be highlighted.

Woodhall Spa & District Organ Society go that one mile further

Woodhall Spa and District Organ Society show a PowerPoint presentation before their monthly concert commences.  PowerPoint is a Microsoft programme and is one of many ways to combine words, music and pictures as a visual production. At Woodhall Spa they highlight the player that is about to play. Features like this make the monthly concerts more interesting and shows that the society officials are prepared to go that one mile further than many others.   Members of the society appreciate that they are getting a little extra for their membership fee, while getting to know more about the player that they are about to hear.   Note that templates (like the one shown here) are available on the Internet for those who want to follow the example of this organ society.
