Andy Oakley becomes a proud Dad!

On returning home from Bournemouth and the Key Break weekend hosted by Chris Powell and Brett Wales, Andy Oakley (left), festival entertainer of note, did not have long to wait before finding out he was the proud father of a baby son.   Both Andy and his wife Vicky (right), a former Blue Coat entertainer at Pontin's Barton Hall, are absolutely delighted and very proud of their first new arrival.

Ian Griffin, who accompanied Andy in the Key Break cabaret spot, understands that the baby is to be named George Edward - two names fitting for a command performance.  Ian's parting words to Andy as he left Bournemouth was that it would be alright on the night!    Having said that, it is not yet known if it was a matinee or an evening production.  It is also not yet known if the delivery team gave Vicky a standing ovation.

Seriously, we wish Andy, Vicky and the new arrival the best of luck for the future.

Talking about Andy.......

Someone has posted the following comment on his YOUTUBE video:-

"One of the best all-round compere - entertainers in the business. Where is TV exposure when you REALLY need it? And with backing like that, will someone tell me what Simon Cowell has against keyboard players?"

All we can say is that it is a pity we don't have more constructive comments like that.   Many think along those lines, but just don't bother to express their feelings.   It is either that, or a matter of them taking it all for granted!
