John Romero's Accordion Blows Up
John Romero was unable to perform at the Sand Bay Keyboard Cabaret Festival earlier this month because he said his accordion had blown up and that no replacement was available. John said he felt gutted because he was looking forward to the event to play in a concert spot and to represent the OrganFAX website team.
John runs accordion festivals and keyboard events at Eastborne which he says are very popular with enthusiasts.
Our Sympathy to John Mann
We extend our sincere sympathy to John Mann on the sudden loss of his assistant, Jill, who has cared for him for over 23 years. Because of this John was unable to perform at the recent Sand Bay Keyboard Cabaret Weekend. Penny Weedon replaced John at very short notice.
John said he will never fully recover from the shock but will carry on giving entertainment to others because that is his life.
Robbie, his brother who always travels with him, is also not too well and that is another problem he has to contend with.
John appeared at the very first Home Electronic Organ Festival at Pontin's Barton Hall, Torquay, in 1980 and was a natural choice for the 30th anniversary event. Last year he celebrated his 70th birthday with a special concert at the Dome in Brighton.
