Welcome.

I started to develop my artwork after taking early retirement in 2014, having worked in local authority social administration for 30 years.

Before this I had achieved the dizzy heights of a C grade “O” level in art and then my art fizzled out for many years.  It was not until spending holidays in France that I began tentative watercolours then took an evening class in Manchester and joined the local art society.

Having spent a brief post retirement period living in France I am indebted to two art teachers who lived there and started guiding me in learning many new techniques.  We returned to the UK , living for a while on a narrow boat in Derbyshire and a variety of new art workshops.

Wanting to settle down, as all pensioners should, we moved to a small cottage in north east Scotland, an area which we love.  Since moving to this area I have also become involved in two local art societies which is very rewarding, a good way to meet other artists and gain inspiration.

I am now trying to develop my own style which is fairly eclectic.  I can only thank the various artists who have led the courses and workshops that I have attended and who have helped me to learn and continue to develop.

My inspiration comes from the area we live in, its landscapes, townscapes and wildlife and I continue to try out new and different approaches to my work.

I have now started selling my originals, prints, cards and also diversifying into other areas such as painted brooches and clocks.

I had planned to do this at a variety of craft fairs and highland gatherings during 2020 but events have now overtaken this. As a result I am now looking to expand on line sales.

Buying

If you would like to buy anything then you can do this via Paypal for most items. Alternatively, and if you prefer, then you can contact me to arrange another way of paying such as a bank transfer or cheque.

I hope that you enjoy my artwork and stay safe.
