Kenne was brought up in Dingwall and moved with his family to the family croft in Tore on the picturesque Black Isle in Ross-shire where he has spent most of his life. He studied Art and Photography at Inverness College from there he went on to gain a Diploma in Graphic Design and Photography at Aberdeen College.

Kenne has taken photographs since his teenage days and art along with motorsport is one of his lifelong passions.
