Welcome to
BREADALBANE KENMORE CURLING CLUB
A Brief History
The Club logo dates the setting up of a Curling Club at Kenmore as during 1860. The inaugural meeting of the Breadalbane Curling Club was 12th December 1887 with Gavin, 7th Earl of Breadalbane in the Chair. The Breadalbane Clubs included Aberfeldy, Ke more, Killin, Strathfillan, Lochearnhead, Glenorchy and Amulree. Fearnan and Ardeonaig joined a year later. Blackmount joined in 1890.
The Breadalbane Association was reformed on 23rd March 1890 to include Aberfeldy, Killin, Glendochart, Glenorchy, Kenmore, Amulree and Strathfillan. On 18th November 1931 Breadalbane was officially approved as a Province by the Royal Caledonian Curling Club.
Breadalbane Academy was added at a later date. Amulree, Strathfillan and Glenorchy have since been lost. This means that there are currently five clubs in the Province though the Academy is non-active at present.
The Club welcomes new members and offers coaching for beginners with a sponsorship scheme for juniors.
