Dover actress, Karol Steele has just completed work on the pilot episode of a new Internet TV series, Second Choice.
Written and directed by Nathaniel Redfern, a student at the University of Kent, Second Choice tells the story of David, played by UniKent student Chris Derrett, and the trials and tribulations he faces after failing to get into his first choice of university. Forced into accepting his second choice, and after a series of impulsive decisions, David life heads slowly into disaster.
Karol stars as David's mum, Jackie, and it also stars St Margaret's Players stalwart, Gary Cordes from Kingsdown as dad, Michael, and Karol's son Ben (a second year Drama undergraduate at the Christ Church University Centre in Folkestone) as David's housemate, Liam.
Karol fitted in filming around her already busy acting schedules. She has just finished filming the lead role in a film about the First World War which premieres next month, has done some work on the TV drama The Tunnel (which is filming in Folkestone and the Dover district for the next 6 months), did an episode of Inside Out, plus is getting ready to appear in Talking Heads 4 with Blackfish in the Roundhouse Theatre on 3rd May.
Second Choice was produced by KTV - The Kent Television Society, the new visual media society at Kent Union, and will be entered into the Student Television Awards, and if successful will be made into a web series.
