Perusing while stuck in chewing gum & vomit on Windmill Brae in Aberdeen

Ken fit happened tae me th' other night..? I wis walkin' doon Langstane Place tae the Green via Windmill Brae an' goat stuck fast in chewin' gum & vomit.. I wis stuck there fur at least half an' oor & while I waited tae be rescued I wis able tae huv a guid look aroon & hae a deep philysofical peruse aboot ma toonl!! It's a' front the noo..!

Nae Youth Work

We see this new skwer bein' pushed doon oor throats but a' the way doon fae Bon Accord Baths tae the horrendous carpark bridge oo'r the Green it is pure muck.. If the CGP people wir that concerned aboot young folk they'd maybe clean that route up..! There's cassies that huv been there since the year dot an' the pavements ur a hazzard tae ony walker.. an dinnae talk tae me aboot wheelchair access.. it's nil..zilch.. non existentI I dinnae believe a new city skwer will solve these problems.. An' then I thouch aboot fur I come fae in Torry.. Nae youth work, nae adult learning & nay fundin' fur community centres efter next year.. (issues in every disadvantaged community) Will the city skwer solve these problems? Ah dinna think so..!

Connectivity

As far as connectivity is concerned.. dinnae get me stertit.. I look oot o' my windae tae Union Skwer & fit dae I see? - a bloody car park.. & if I wint tae get there ahv'e goat tae walk oor a dangerous dual-carriageway n' through the fish hoose's - ye kin stick yer connectivity far the sun disnae shine.. Th' idea o' the city skwer is fur a few people tae get loads o' money & the rest o' us tae look at chewing gum, vomit & car parks.. They don't live where I live..!

Local Culture

Improve our communities first before creating a plastic city centre.. Sir Ian Woods was eloquent about the need to create talent in Aberdeen and was proud at the same time for knocking down a chunk of my community of Torry.. What disappeared was a cricket pitch and a local football ground - as well as housing.. Sir Ian say's he has history in Torry but has never supported or complained about the facilities that have gone.. We have continually asked for support for our gala.. nothing! We have a patron saint in Torry - I bet he couldn't name him!! Culture to the CGP is a fantasy.. Vote to retain Union Terrace Gardens - If the CGP is so concerned about the culture of Aberdeen - invest in our communities not a cartoon drawing..!
