Welcome

PLEASE NOTE:

I am sorry to have to report that I.T. for the Terrified has decided to cease operations.  It is sad after all this time, but everything has a natural life-span, and we feel we have come to the end of ours.  Times have changed, and the need for our services has changed, and some trainers have moved on, and we no longer have a firm base, so we have reluctantly decided to fold.

We would like to thank everyone who has helped and supported us over the years and wish you all happy computing.  We would also like to thank Cheddar Village Hall who have been very helpful and supportive.

IT for the terrified (IT4TT) is a training centre with a difference.  It provides informal training, either on one-to-one sessions, in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.  It is managed and run by unpaid volunteers, therefore allowing us to provide you with affordable but high quality tuition.   We aim to fulfil the needs of each individual and tailor our classes to fit your specific needs; offering help with most topics on all computers and tablets. You can bring your own laptop, or use our machines.  We can cover most topics, from absolute basics, for example downloading photos from your camera,  through to more advanced usage on all our Windows systems, Mac products, iPads, Androids, Tablets, eReaders and Smartphones.

tea and coffeeWe have volunteer trainers who can help you with computer basics, digital cameras, internet and e-mail, word processing and spreadsheets, eBay, genealogy, PowerPoint presentations, creating flyers and promotional materials, and basic web design.

If you want to learn how to do something, we'll do our best to find you a trainer who can help you - whether you are an absolute beginner or an experienced IT user with a specific IT problem.

If you already have any of these skills, perhaps you'd like to be a trainer

Things will be organised differently to the way some of our session were orgaised, but our ethos of friendly, informal, relaxed and individual help to use computer, tablet or smartphone remains the same.   Come to learn about to order prescriptions or library books, do your shopping, email or chat to friends and family online etc,

Our opening hours will be flexible, because we have different trainers with different skills on different levels on different days, but we will arrange an appointment to suit both parties as quickly as we can.  Appointments are essential and cost £20 per two-hour session for a 1:1 or £30 per two-hour session for a 1:2.  There will be no drop-ins and all appointments must be pre-booked.

We are now using Cheddar Village Hall
