INTRODUCTION
Iscapella is a South Exeter based male chorus singing acapella songs in close harmony and barbershop style. We sing for our own enjoyment and to entertain at concerts and functions such as dinners, parties, etc. We sing in four-part harmony, and the parts are bass, baritone, tenor and the leads who usually sing the melody of the song.
Iscapella was formed about 10 years ago, and its 20 members come Exeter and surrounding towns, including Exmouth, Newton Abbot, Ottery St Mary etc.
Some of our members have been members of other choirs or barbershop choruses, who have moved into the area. However there are also some who have had no previous experience of singing in a chorus, and we welcome such singers. In order to help new members and to learn new songs we have a series of teach CDs, which
We sing at about five or six functions a year, including concerts for charity. Over the years we have sung at diverse locations such as Oldway Mansion in Torquay, Exeter Cathedral, Buckfast Abbey and other churches. We also specialize as a “cabaret” or after dinner entertainment for such groups as rotary club, women’s institute, Anglo-French society, and weddings and anniversaries
