Hello and welcome to the Invershin Fun Run Website ....

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO TOOK PART, IT WAS A GREAT SUCCESS!
WATCH THIS SPACE FOR NEXT YEARS EVENT ......

The Fun Run will take place on Sunday 3rd April 2011, starting at Shin Falls Visitor Centre at 11am.

There are 2 options:
 The ‘Canter’ Trail Race, approximately 6 miles
 The ‘Trot’ Fun Run, approximately 1 mile
Children under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

I really hope everyone enjoys the fun runs and we see some fancy dress on show!!

The Fun Run has been organised to raise funds for the World Horse Welfare Canadian Wilderness Challenge, 21st – 30th August 2011 (Chilcotin Mountains, British Columbia) which I am taking part in.  More info can be found on their website. We will be riding for many miles each day, and camping at night. Whilst the trip itself will be a difficult one, the biggest challenge will be raising £3200; something I have pledged to do for World Horse Welfare in order to take part in this trip. So far I have organised various fund raising events from car boot sales, cake sales, a Christmas craft fair and a bag packing session.

World Horse Welfare is active in many countries around the world, as well as here in the UK. Their work covers many aspects from rehabilitating abused and neglected horses, ponies and donkeys, rehoming them with approved owners, and educating people overseas in the best ways of looking after their horses whilst providing sustainable solutions. The charity also actively campaigns on issues that affect equine welfare, with excellent results over the years.  Founded in 1927, World Horse Welfare is now the world’s leading international equine welfare charity.

The funds I raise through this Challenge will be put into excellent use, and will really make a difference.
