Inverness was well represented at last weekend’s Oban Congress.
The whole Birkett family went along in what was their first tournament in a long time.
Richard played in the Open, Callum, Derek and Sarah were playing in the Minor, as was David Newton. Andrew Newton was in the Open along with Richard.
It was a very strong event for any player and must have been very difficult if you haven’t played for a while, this didn’t seem to bother Callum who finished on 4/5! And Derek Birkett scored 3/5 and doesn’t play in congresses more than once a year! Excellent results.
David scored 1½ and seems to be getting into his stride as his results in recent events testify.
