Keith Hoban Memorial Trophy. Ist Callum Birkett, 2nd Euan Gray, 3rd Gwion ap Rheinallt.
We were delighted to see so many children from all over the highlands and islands taking part and hope everyone had a good day. Thanks to the Chieftain Hotel for providing us with a great venue and special chess menu - Liz and her team did us proud. We'll be back next year!"
Well done to Callum Birkett for winning the top tournament, the Keith Hoban Trophy, it was stated at the prizegiving that every winner of this trophy has played in the Scottish Junior team, is this going to be Callums plans!.
Not to be out done, Sarah Birkett finished 2nd in the "Rising Stars" event, brilliant results considering neither play chess regularly at the moment, lets hope these results will inspire them to greater achievements!
