Congratulations to both Andrew Newton ( Blitz 2009 Winner) and Kai Pannwitz ( Under 1000 Winner) who were finally presented with their well earned trophies at the club tonight, both played a lot of games to win these events and we wish them both well in this years events.

Also this week we have started themed tournaments featuring four different openings,entrants play each other with White and Black, this will hopefully help our players to think of other styles different from their usual styles. We also have engame puzzles for those who are in between games.

Notation lessons are in progress also as we feel it is important for players to enjoy reading chess books and recording their games so they can be discussed after the game is finished.
