The Edinburgh Congress is over, another wonderful event but none of the highest graded players came back with any silver, however, the Birkett family did come back with ££££££££,s!

Mr Birkett senior won a share of a grading prize, as did Callum Birkett, not to be left out, Sarah Birkett won the "Giant Killer" prize, beating her opponent who was 800 points higher than her.

Well done to everyone who played and maybe next year there will be even more prizes for Inverness!.

As a footnote, thank you to Lisa who has arranged the purchase of our new digital clocks,sets,boards and boxes which will be in use shortly, when we work out how to put the batteries in and work out the instructions!. They are now all safely delivered to the Chieftain.
