The Bahá'ís of Inverness

There have been Bahá'is in Inverness since 1959.  The first Spiritual Assembly was elected in April 1962 and has continued to be re-elected every year since then.

The Bahá'i community encouraged by the Spiritual Assembly has worked to develop the distinctive pattern of Bahá'i community life as well as support and work with  organisations which have like-minded interests and promote the principles of the Faith.

As well as the regular 19 Day Feast meetings with its spiritual, social and administrative roles, and the commemoration/celebration of its 9 Holy Days, the community holds regular prayer/devotional meetings. Members and friends have also been participating in Study Circles for the deepening and understanding of the Faith at various levels.

The development of children/youth classes and the youth increasing their participation in the affairs of the Faith has reached exciting new levels.

Then the coffee mornings offer opportunity for further social union and are an opportuntiy for friends and those outwith Inverness to meet.

Members of the community are also actively involved with racial harmony activities, interfaith dialogue and take an active part in Forum discussion on various aspects of community life at large.
