The annual competition for the above trophy took place today in almost perfect weather conditions with an entry of 20 teams.

At the semi-final stage the four teams left in contention were from St. Duthus, Invergordon and two from Ardross/ Alness.  At this stage the St. Duthus triple, skipped by C. More' and the Invergordon triple, skipped by S. Adam, had to bow out leaving the two Alness teams to battle it out.

The final was a tightly fought final which at one point seemed to be going in one direction but suddenly the triple of A. Adamson, G. Dunne and J. Reid came back strongly into contention and going into the last end had levelled the game.  In the last end A. Adamson played a lovely bowl which carried the jack back and rested close to it and we all thought that this would probably finish the game but the next bowl 'wicked' of a short bowl and ran on to the jack to leave an impossible shot to beat it.
