Connecting Classroom
The Gateway Academy has been successfully involved in the Connecting Classrooms project that is run by the British Council. The Connecting Classrooms project ensures that The Gateway Academy continues to develop links with partner schools across all continents, work together on classroom based projects, share best practice with international colleagues and seek to attend many professional development courses.
Why does the Gateway Academy take part?
The project is designed to broaden our understanding of our planet and the people within. Through the project many different international topics will be studied and young people like yourself will become more responsible global citizens. The project helps build links with schools around the world, this in turn has many positive educational benefits and ensures we become a more rounded global citizen in the future.
International schools Award 2013-2016
The British Council International School Award supports our school in embedding international learning into the curriculum. Working towards it gives pupils and teachers a new perspective on the world, and the skills to work in a global economy.
